Jesus Focused Missions

Acts 1:8

8) but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” NASB Lockman Foundation

Jesus commissioned His disciples and His Church to “be My Witnesses” in our local cities, states, nations and on to the ends of the earth. We must be passionate about fulfilling Jesus commission to us and obeying His Movement Orders to tell people about His death burial and resurrection for our sins. Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to empower us to accomplish our mission. We must tell all people about His good news and encourage them to turn form sin and trust Jesus with all of our hearts.

Matthew 28:18-20

18) And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19) [a]Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20) teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and know, I am with you [b]always, even to the end of the age.” NASB Lockman Foundation

Jesus has all authority in Heaven and on earth. He gives us His authority over all the power of the enemy in His name and by the power of His blood shed on the cross to forgive our sin. As we are going through our daily lives, we walk through the mission field. All around us are people who need hope. Jesus is that great hope offering forgiveness of sin and eternal life in heaven to those who turn from sin and trust in Him.

Making disciples is simply teaching new believers from the Bible how to follow Jesus. It is learning from the Scriptures, living out what we learn and teaching folks to do the same. We read our bibles daily, pray, give of our finances to help the church grow and help others around us. We are also a brother/sisterhood that tells the world about Jesus so He can set them free. We follow our Lord in believer’s emersion baptism and live out His word in our lives because we are His family. Jesus is with us always. He watches our going out and returning home on into eternal life forever more.
